On 1 July 2025, the European Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) with over 400 employees officially began carrying out its duties from its offices in Frankfurt am Main.

AMLA is responsible for closing regulatory gaps and enhancing the integrity of the European financial market. In this role it will coordinate national authorities to ensure the correct and consistent application of EU rules. Over 400 AMLA employees are based in the Frankfurt Messe Tower.

The establishment of the agency is a key step towards harmonising and strengthening the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing across the EU.

We congratulate the AMLA team on reaching this important milestone and wish them continued success as they move forward!
